Guardians of the Earth: Science
for Climate & Biodiversity

Outcome of The Session : "Planetary Stewardship & Climate Action"

Objective of Session – "Planetary Stewardship & Climate Action"

The session “Guardians of the Earth: Science for Climate & Biodiversity” aims to highlight the role of science and technology in safeguarding ecosystems, mitigating climate risks and promoting biodiversity conservation. It emphasizes interdisciplinary approaches that integrate climate literacy, marine stewardship and terrestrial ecosystem protection. By aligning with SDGs 13, 14 and 15, the session underscores the responsibility of scientists, engineers and educators to act as stewards of the planet, ensuring resilience and sustainability for future generations.

Focus Areas (Not Limited To)

Climate Action & Resilience: Carbon reduction technologies, disaster-resilient infrastructure, and climate-responsive innovations.

Marine Conservation: Ocean monitoring systems, sustainable fisheries, and pollution reduction strategies.

Biodiversity Protection: Eco-engineering for forestry, habitat restoration, and wildlife conservation.

Community Engagement: Grassroots projects on afforestation, coastal protection, and sustainable lifestyles.

Digital & Smart Solutions: AI, IoT, and big data for climate monitoring and biodiversity management.

Cross-disciplinary Collaboration: Linking environmental science, engineering, and policy for holistic planetary stewardship.
